Berk, our guide, met my friend and me right at Galataport and had the timing dialed in from the start. The private vehicle was already waiting, warm inside on a cold February afternoon, and our luggage went straight into the trunk so we didn’t have to think about it again. Traffic around the Old City was heavy, but he had a clear plan so we still saw Hagia Sophia and the Hippodrome and got back to the port with a solid buffer before boarding.
